Crocus Sativus (Saffron) Growing Guide
If you tend have fingers of any colour apart from green these are the bulbs for you. They don't care about the soil type, you can plant them anywhere, in a rockery, under a tree or even within your lawn. For these saffron producing crocus, plant them 2.5 cm deep by early September and be rewarded by the flowers and the spice by early October. Apart from acts of god I dare anyone to tell me they cannot grow these.
If you intend to harvest the Saffron from them remember to dry fry the strands before use as they won't have dried as much as the packet bought stuff and save your self a fortune. See here
